Yes, exciting and occasionally exhausting is about right. Congratulations on finishing this one! I want to find time to read it one day.

Happy sixth birthday to your son! And congratulations on all you've achieved and all those upcoming plans! Might you be free for a chat sometime in the next month? I seem to be coming up to London at least twice a week with various events and visits!

Hi Harvey, thanks so much! So great to have you here.

I would love to meet up. I've barely made it into the city-city since I moved (twice I think?) due to the crazy hours I've got but let's make it happen. Will you also plan to be doing that in 2025? Only because the weeks leading up to the holiday are pretty packed and we leave the 14th to the US. Email/DM and we can find a way soon :)

Happy birthday 🎂 Buzz! Great to get an update from you; look forward to seeing how The Mattherhorn develops in the future.

Also, I just finished reading Yellow Face!! I thought it was as a great concept, but have to admit that I got bored around half way through and found it repetitive. I think there's maybe a limit to how long you can tolerate a whiny narrator who sees the world as being against her...😄 but that is possibly the author's intention. Thinking of writing more about this in the future! Would love to know how you find it.

Haha YES I both see this and also think it is her intention (whether or not it works, I’m not sure yet!). The ideas about race and authenticity and authorship are quite intriguing and I’m also curious about this ghost.

Thanks Kate! 💜

Hey Kate! Congrats again on the thrilling ride that was Marie's story and for setting it up so that a sequel (or sequels) are possible.

"The eight-part series I’ll publish is about the epistolary form, one I used for the novel I’ve just serialized here." -- this is very exciting! Really looking forward to this.

Would love to hear your thoughts on Yellowface. I've been tempted to read that but haven't gotten to it.

As you saw, I have the new Murakami to read, but I'm only dipping into it slowly at the moment as I finish off Moby Dick. I've enjoyed the latter, but like the ocean waves there have been peaks and troughs for me across the many varied chapters.

Oh yes, Moby Dick is a beast in itself!

Re Yellowface - if you see Kate’s comment, you’ll see how I’m feeling about it. But it does intrigue me still! There does seem to be this fixation with publication big P that puts me off and is a good reflection tool.

Thank you, thank you for your ever present support 🙏

This is just ace. Your ability to connect personal milestones, like your son’s birthday, with reflections on your creative process is a delight to read. The enthusiasm for projects such as the triptych of novellas and your exploration of shorter pieces in 2025 shows your versatility as a writer.
