Plenty of things going on for you, I see, Kate! One that caught my eye was the third instalment of On The Calculation of Volume in your TBR list. I myself loved the first two, and I will sooner or later tackle the third one (my TBR list, as you surely can relate, grows by the minute). I have some serious catching up to do with your work too. Happy new year!
What wonderful plans - and with apologies for the late comment, I am catching up!
And, how exciting to see that you're teaching P&P! Your students are so very lucky, and so are we that we get to share in all your travels and projects. A belated happy new year, Kate! 🌺
We start next week and I’m so excited. We will have some old fashioned letter writing and a Socratic seminar tea party weaved into the lessons as well as creating witty dialogue. Your posts have given me a lot of angles to share. I just finished rewatching the 1995 BBC adaptation and was transported back to my senior year of high school when Mrs Russell shared it with us during Brit Lit 😍 (1998)
Have you read 'Fugitive Pieces'? She has a very specific style that is a little jarring to begin with — I found — but she is deeply intuitive and her prose is deservedly praised.
Id love to know what you think when you've finished.
I have not! I’m new to her work. I didn’t realize she is a poet before I started but it makes so much sense. Yes, there are some sentences that seem to float like magic! I’ve been sidetracked by work but shall report when I finish. Don’t want to rush it.
I'm excited for your new developments, Kate! Sinister and surreal (similar to Interpreter in Vienna?) sounds right up my alley. You are brave to start another newsletter (in this economy? 😘) Happy New Year! 💜
I'm so excited to start hearing more about your new strands, Kate! I love the concept of the international explorations of art and culture. We need a catch up soon! 📚 ☕️

Hi Silvio! So happy to 'see' you. Happy new year to you as well!
We will have to catch up about Solvej Balle once we both get a chance to read it. Yes, can relate! All in good time...
It was great having you on the show & I look forward to discovering your new projects 💓
Thanks, Ian! Excited for your projects as well.
Thank you so much ❤️

I loved Anne Micheal's 'Held'!

Thanks for reading, Susie.
Looking forward to more stories, Kate! And thanks for the reading suggestions. A TBR pile must always grow!

Yeah, channeling the mysterious! I've redrafted an outline of the direction, but I may go back and make it even more thriller-like...let's see.
lol, bravery is what we've got. Happy new year to you, Troy! 😍
Sounds like some exciting projects to look forward to!
Thanks Stephanie! Happy New Year to you.
